Hi,

They will create a similar passing in Mulazzo. A new bridge will take years and this solution will work some 11 months per year according to the technicians of the Regione.
The works will cost 600K euros since it should carry heavy taffic for repairing the damages beyond Mulazzo in Parana and the road to it.
Although it has been a small disaster, the locals now have a common thing to talk about and agree how bad the local authorities do their jobs. Left and right wing people agreeing for once!

Thank you Alex , if that is the restoring , it will be possible to take our easter holliday in Castagnetoli, we were afraid it would be difficult to get through to our village.Hope you are there and have some time for us, we are really enjoying your company, it gives us a good relaxed feeling and a lot of good memories.
Our Italian languságe is not getting any better, but we will give it a try the next month so we have the possibility to talk to our neigbours and even understanding them. he he.

Yes, I later came to realise that that is exactly what they were doing. Helicoptering electricity poles kind of gave it away!
Although an admittedly temporary and makeshift replacement bridge is now in place. More a triumph of ingenuity than a triumph of engineering, I’d say. I hope to post a picture soon.

Alex, we also saw the helicopters from the Castagnetoli side. They weren’t doing anything with the bridge, they landed just further round on the road to Serola. It looked like they were repairing electricity pylons.

Wow, it must have been bad. We’re usually in Castagnetoli at half term when this happened, but we didn’t get over this time. We are coming over in November, and have been sent a pic of the bridge near our village, which is no longer accessible by car.

I hope we can get to the village via Busatica! Or we’ll bring a tent

Lovely. Thanks for the post and photos. Having been to the Gragnola and Filetto festas over the last two weekends, we decided at the last minute to give Pontremoli a miss and go to the Virgoletta festa next weekend when we have visitors again. Having seen your images, we are rather regretting our decision! Especially, as we missed that same fire show at the Gargnola one. Ah well, always next year…
