Here in Florida, these spiders are very common. When my husband hears me screaming in the shower, he knows to come running to remove the spider. He's able to catch them in his hands; I'm neither that quick nor that willing. We sent his mom (in California) a picture of a big huntsman climbing up the side of a coffee mug; the spider was as big as the mug. She has never come to visit us. My best huntsman story is from after a shower. I had washed my hair and put it up in a towel. When I looked in the bathroom mirror as I was brushing my teeth, there was a large huntsman looking down at me from atop the towel! Much shrieking and one discarded towel later, I was able to calm down. (And yes...catch & release is the best solution.)

Lucinda (in Florida)
